The principle
Every transaction on Covy is protected. The buyer's money is secured by Covy throughout the delivery process. The seller is only paid after confirmation.
The protection flow
- The buyer pays -> the money is held by Covy (escrow)
- The seller ships -> they provide shipment proof (photo + video + tracking)
- The buyer receives -> they have the protection period to check the item
- The buyer confirms -> the seller is paid
- Or the deadline passes -> after the protection period without a dispute, the seller is paid automatically
If there's a problem
If the item doesn't match:
- The buyer opens a dispute with photos
- The seller has a set timeframe to respond
- If no agreement -> the Covy team arbitrates
- Covy makes a decision based on evidence from both parties
Accepted evidence
- Photos of the received item showing the problem
- Shipment proof from the seller (package photo, video, tracking number)
- Screenshots of messages between buyer and seller
- Original listing description for comparison
Seller protection
Sellers are also protected:
- The shipment proof system prevents fraudulent disputes
- The QR code / PIN for in-person handover confirms the handover
- Transaction and review history helps identify abuse
